Who We Are...
 

What began as a dream in 1998 for longtime Whitley County resident Emily Deutsch and local veterinarian Dr. Don Richey has become a magnificent reality!

With help from several concerned citizens, the Humane Society of Whitley County opened its new animal shelter and adoption center in August of 2004.

The facility features 7,000 square feet of space, 44 dog runs, two cat rooms, and a community meeting room for educational programs.

The mission is to enhance animal and human life through the creation of a resource hub providing safety, health and educational services and to prevent cruelty and suffering, provide housing and care, facilitate adoptions for unwanted animals, and enhance the human/animal bond through community outreach programs.
