What began as a dream in 1998 for longtime Whitley County resident Emily Deutsch and local veterinarian Dr. Don Richey has become a magnificent reality! With help from several concerned citizens, the Humane Society of Whitley County opened its new animal shelter and adoption center in August of 2004.
The facility features 7,000 square feet of space, 44 dog runs, two cat
rooms, and a community meeting room for educational programs.
